The Design Goal

The design goal for TimeScape was to delight you and myself with playful ways of reading and displaying the time.

The Modes of Time Display

TimeScape Instructions.pdf

I am very divided about  how best to explain TimeScape.  The ways of displaying and reading the time varies from very easy to being intentionally diabolic.  And I don't want to rob you of the fun of discovering it by describing too much.  On the other hand, you should know what you will be receiving when you order the TimeScape.  The link above tells you everything, via the instructions.

Also I want you to know that you paid nothing for the extra modes that you may never use.  The price of my products are chosen from parts cost and labor to make, not lines of computer code.  The computer code is just me being playful.  Enjoy.  Have fun.

Next, General Information.
A new display happens every 10 seconds.

A build mode is when the display starts blank, then the hour lights, then the 10's or 5's of minutes light, next 0-4 minutes light, and then maybe a background color/s change.  5 of the 7 modes are build modes.  And in 2 modes everything morphs/changes at once.

There are 3 ways of displaying the time.

1.  3 variations of the TimeArt clock.

2.  A new way that lacks a good name, (call it Time-chained, or Time's-Tail).

3.  A mode similar to the Time Portal clock.

And a combination mode of all three above called Diabolic.

That's enough playful hints of the delight that awaits you from TimeScape

What my customers tell me they love about my designs are...

 Playful.

They "Make a Statement."

A Puzzle,  if you don't know how to read it,  but easy if you do.

A Conversation Piece.

And are a Great Gift for either the artful, playful, or  technical personality in so many of us.

Useful

Has an optional hourly chime as a pleasant, sweet reminder of the hour.

The face pattern does a playful, count-up dance synchronized to the "sweet dings".  Great fun!

Sadly, it is very hard to make an acceptable video of this charming feature.

Selectable Features (are stored in Flash Memory for power failures).

You can turn the Hourly Chime sound ON/OFF, or soften/lower (1/2 chimes volume).

You can adjust the brightness.  Mainly useful for a bright office or in a dark bedroom.

There are 8 display modes to choose from.

Other Features:

Uses a SuperCapacitor (no batteries to leak or replace) for 30 minutes of backup when power fails.

Should not gain or lose time while the AC power is on.
